Don't Forget...
Tomorrow is our Relief Society activity in Silkwood Park, just North of the church. We will be meeting at 12 p.m. for lunch and slip 'n' sliding. Bring your own lunch, your kids, and a chair! See you there!
Meet Your Relief Society Presidency!!
Did you hear?!? Little Valley First Ward got a new Relief Society Presidency on Sunday. Yay!! They are going to be so fabulous! I thought you all would want to see their happy, excited faces!
Diane Barlow, First Counselor
Kathryn Andrus, Secretary
We will, however, really miss seeing Nancy Gubler up front leading the way. She was an amazing president and such a great person. Thanks for all you did for our ward Nancy!! You may need to look for her on the back row now..... :)
Meet the Sisters
I am still accepting short bios to put with your pictures. Please email them to lisalemmon@hotmail.com. You know you love to read them....

Mission News
Gwen and George Sieg have been called to serve a mission in the Washington DC North Mission in the Family History Records Preservation Office. They will be Record Preservation Specialists. They will report to the MTC on August 27th to serve for 18 months. So exciting!!
Recipes
No one has emailed me any recipes to share! That means you are going to have endure all of my personal favorites I have collected.
Chex Mix Goo (Thought hard about the name of this one)
1 box corn chex
1 1/4 c. peanut butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. karo syrup
milk chocolate chips
Combine peanut butter, sugar, and karo and bring just to a boil. Pour over chex and fold to mix. Lay out on waxed paper. Melt chips separately and drizzle over chex mix.
Salsa
1 qt. jar whole tomatoes
5-6 Roma tomatoes, diced
1/2 tsp. cumin
pinch of basil
pinch of oregano
1 large onion, chopped
2 TB cilantro
1-2 jalapenos (for desired heat)
salt and pepper to taste
TB lime juice
Mix all together in a bowl. Put half of the mixture in a blender and pulse. We like ours a little chunky so I don't blend it all. If you want it thinner, blend the whole batch.
Yes, 50% of all foods I eat tend to be on the sugary side. Life is short, right?

Relief Society Activity!!
What?! Two activities in May?!
We thought we ought to have a fun activity to celebrate the end of the school year! Come and join us!
(Note: It is not mandatory for the women to slip and slide when in attendance at this activity. That part is for the kids! But, should you want to participate, you can (and I'll have my camera ready!))
Meet the Sisters
Don't forget that we all love to read the bios on each other. So email me yours!! Thanks for all the help (cooperation) with my "little" project.
Genel Anderson
We moved here to this ward in November of last year. We moved from Washington City where we lived for the last 7 years. I am originally from California born and raised for 15 years in Anaheim where disneyland was in our ward boundaries then moved to San Marcos North County San Diego. I met my husband at a singles ward dance after he moved to San Diego to go to school. We have been married for almost 11 years. We have 4 children 3 boys and 1 girl. We were blessed to have triplets in 2008. I am currently the manager of Beehive Homes on River Road. I love to read books, bake, and LOVE to play games/entertain guest. My dream vacation would be to go somewhere without much noise where I can relax, read a book and not stick to a schedule.

Service Activity
Thank you, thank you to those who were able to make it to our service activity last Wednesday. It was so fun to get together and do SOMETHING GOOD for someone else. I thought about taking a camera to get a couple of pictures of the sisters in action and then..well....I forgot. Sorry. We appreciate Becky Roper and Becca Busk coordinating the project for us. Time is valuable to us all; so thanks for sharing yours with the ladies of our ward!
Beehive Home
Our ward was in charge of providing the Beehive Home on River Road with their church services during April. We appreciate so much all the sisters who were able to fit it into their schedules and come out to do Relief Society on Wednesdays. It's a little sad that we only go for one month because we were just really getting to know the ladies by then. We learned just how much they look forward to us coming! Serving them was great!
Do you think church attendance would go up if we provided lazy boys?
Meet the Sisters
More sisters to meet!! I get a little nervous that I will put the wrong name on here when I have only met some of you once! Please let me know if I need to fix anything. And, a huge THANK YOU for letting me take your pictures! I think I've scared a few new people when I say "hi" and then whip out a camera and take their pictures. Everyone is being a great sport though and I think it has been fun to get lots of sisters on the blog! Our ward is up to 139 sisters on our rolls and I have had to change the font to keep our phone list on two pages instead of three!
